Workers’ compensation is a form of insurance that is intended to provide those who are injured while working, or who suffer from a work-related illness, to be compensated for their medical expenses and lost wages without having to go through protracted and difficult legal action. The worker does not have to prove the employer was negligent, and the employer cannot claim the worker’s negligence caused the injury.
